In Which Ti Finally Gets Kicked in the Pants by the Economic Crisis

So the grad school status at present is as follows:

Duke: Accepted with full funding
Texas-Austin: Accepted with pretty full funding--but I already told them no. ...see above.
Vanderbilt: Accepted with full funding, though maybe not quite as much cash-wise as Duke.
UCLA: Rejected, possibly due to departmental drama. Pssh. Didn't want to go there anyway. :P

And now the latest installment!

University of Michigan: Wait-listed! ._.

I quote: "As you may know, we only admit students when we can offer a full six years of support. We have decided that we want to maintain current levels of support even in these times of fiscal crisis. This commitment requires us to keep our entering class small. In more comfortable years, you would have received a first-round offer; indeed, you came very close to receiving one this year."

I am bent on remaining hopeful, because Michigan would be amazing, especially if I end up getting a no from Berkeley (the only place I haven't heard from yet).

...but it still makes me sad. ;_;

grad acceptances, things that make me sigh, grad almost-acceptances, i want to stab the economic crisis
