Since the Blog is down...
for the next 24 hours while I switch servers I figure I'll make use of my old LJ for a post...
It's been over a year since my last LJ post and lots has happened arround the Gauhaus. Abi is getting huge and quite head strong (that trait is actually from Chris not me, he is way more stubborn, I'm just way more vocal about my opinions) and she is quite the little talker (that you can blame on me).
This year my veggie garden looks like it will only be providing food for the bugs! Those little buggars are eating everything and I'm trying to keep is organic so I'm using beer traps (bought the crappy no/low alcholo brand as I'll be damned if I'm gonna give them the good stuff!) and cayenne pepper sprinkled on the surviving plants. So far this seems to be working but it is also getting quite close to a base for barbeque sauce!
For those who don't know my small knitting addiction has turned into a full fledged fiber addiction, complete with a spinning wheel, a small rigid heddle loom and a full Alpaca fleece in a bag in Abi's closet just waiting to be spun up and more than likely knit into a shawl (FYI shawls are the new poncho). I have also converted a small space in my basement into a dye studio so I can dye up my yarn and roving. This renewed interest in the textile arts has also started me thinking of heading off to Art School...
