So the cat is now out of the bag....

yep it is true Chris and I are going to try to start an army of me.
We got fully into the swing of things last month after a few lazy months of "if it happens cool, if not that's ok too". What really kicked things into full gear was Chris actually comming out and saying that "well let's do this I think I'm ready".

So I went and saw the doctor who did the full bloodwork and explained all the ins and outs of getting knocked up, who at the clinic does deliveries and if I wanted a midwife what collective she fully indorses.

And now we wait....
Last month I was thinking I was pregnant: things were smelling funny and making me feel ill, boobs hurt and the period was late. But alas it was just that late...I burst into tears when it finally arrived and poor Chris was standing there very confused as to what he may or may not have done.

The statictical average for the length of time it takes someone my age to get pregnant is about 5 to 6 months. I'm really trying to be laid back about the whole thing but man if I hear from one more chick in that "you must be doing something wrong voice" about how she got preggers the first month I think I may get a little testy and possibly hurt someone. It dosen't help that I have 2/3 of my family including a 9 year old nephew and a few co-workers asking about when I'm finally going to have a kid. The nephew thing is kinda my fault as Galen was asking his mum about getting him a brother and I mentioned that when chris and I have kids he will have cousins, which are better than brothers because they will go home after a while and then you don't need to always share toys with them.

But I must say the strangest thing of all is that I have spent the last 11 years avoiding getting pregnant and to trade my birth controll pills for a multivitamin with folic acid and timing things to have the best chance of conception is a little wierd. I'm already getting suggestions from people to best our chances of success, everything from eating alot of cucumbers??(someone please eplaine this to me) to using the counter of a cafe in B.C. where a friend concieved her daughter. This woman also swears that orange crish and serial killer novels during her pregnancy is what probably made her daughter so cool.

So now we just have to wait and luckily I don't have to do too many lifestyle changes to get the body ready, really it is just kicking the cigaretts, which i'm working on.
