To anyone in the city or not. I find there is a time when you are concerned enough to think about helping, and then there are times (like these) where you just jump in and help without even really thinking twice.
A friend is throwing a benefit for her friend to help with this mighty cause.
This moved me, and I want to get anyone and everyone involved in any capacity because every little bit helps. There are supplies much needed, and paypal for donations at the website:
http://www.filmkatrina.com Please read, act, help, and donate what ever you can to this cause. Many thanks!

Hello everyone. I just wanted to update you all on what has developed over the course of the day. It is
10pm on Friday and I am back to Monterey. I spoke to my mother and my cousin Jake tonight. My mom made her
way to Louisiana through the northern route. She is spending the night at her friends and going home
tomorrow in the light of day. She says it’s eerie there. My mom was in California when the storm hit.
Our three cats have been alone all this time, and I am glad she is going to check on them.
My cousin Jake is in Houston. They have been given a hotel room for 14 days. They were able to rescue
their animals from the flood in New Orleans, but they are not allowed to keep them in the hotel room. My
cousin Blake got rescued from his roof with his girlfriend and her child. There were brought to the
Super Dome. Jake told me some horrifying stories of things that happened there. I did not realize that my
cousins where in such a bad way. I had only had enough contact to know that they were alive. I plan
on picking them up in the bus on our way home. Yes we are getting a bus. We found a driver tonight and this
thing is going to happen.
There is land in Folsom where my mom lives. We will be able to set up a community there. Supplies are
totally depleted in all the areas all around. I am going to update the list of things we need. It has
changed since I wrote it last night. Survival is the name of the game now, and I am afraid that toiletries
will be a luxury item. It’s a war zone down there. I think that community will be the key to survival. I
am not just going down there to make a movie. The movie is what is enabling me to go down there. My
mission is much greater than that and the story is yet to unfold.
I must get some rest. I have been going non-stop. Tomorrow I will update the list of things we need. I
don’t have it in me tonight. Think along the lines of generators, gas cans, batteries, RENUABLE ENERGY.
Anybody want to help us set up some solar panels? Why not? Now is the time to think about alternative ways
that we can be surviving on this planet. A very important thing that we are going to need is healthy
food. There is no food in the area. The roof over my bedroom, at my mom’s house, caught the tree from
falling on our propane tank. This means that we will have the means to cook. And the most important thing
that we will need is money. I want to be very frank about this. Money will be our most valuable resource.
I promise to you all that if you give me your money, I will do good things with it. I will help people
first hand, and it won’t be going through any bureaucracy.
Before I go to bed, it’s now midnight; I want to fill everyone in on the details of our upcoming benefits.

Thank you all so much. Please call me at any time. My phone is the best communication tool I have at this

Friends of the community,
When I left the Playa and heard about the Hurricane that struck the South it
immediately put a void in my overfilled soul and I was searching for
something I could do to help when I got an email from Pilar.
Her email was a request for our community to help those in need by throwing
a fund raiser and that¹s what we are going to do.
Pilar's friend, Estee, is making a documentary about the fund raiser and her
travels all the way back home to New Orleans to show the world what life is
like when a disaster like this takes your homes, families & friends away
from you.
Estee has family in New Orleans that were rescued from rooftops and brought
to the Super Dome (which they have horrific stories about). Estee has taken
a leave of absence from her film school to gather supplies, money, anything
to bring back to her family and the neighboring community to help relocate
them to a nearby town (Folsom) so they can try to create a community living
out of tents and whatever provisions they can acquire.
Estee has gotten a bus (still needs a driver) to drive her and the supplies
cross country. We will have an auction for items donated (please let me know
if you can donate anything...art, gift certificates, or anything you think
might help)!
Please friends forward this email to get the word out because we need
your help. $10 donation at the door, drink specials, auction and big beats
to send that bus off right. This will be a rockin day party at the beautiful
Whisper Dance Lounge on a Sunday!
We've got some great DJs contributing their time: Deep Eddie, Melyss,
Murphstar, Syd Gris, ViaJay, Trav, Tamo, J9, Craig w/Kevin on drums,
Jive....WE WILL BASS YOU!
If you are a DJ that knows YOU should be on the decks, please holla at me or
a fan of a DJ please holla at them!
We all have a calling so let's help Estee fulfill hers.
