I visited Russia (actually the Soviet Union) in 1991 and returned home just 3 weeks before the coupe that ended the soviet regime. I loved the people, the excitement, and the innocence of it all! The people there loved Americans. They couldn't wait to test out their English on us. We (a People-to-People delegation of 28 students from Rochester & Syracuse, NY) visited Lenningrad (now St. Petersburg), Estonia, Irkutsk, Alma-Ata (now Almaty), Tashkent & Moscow. - the last unicorn:
