Star Wars: The Force Awakens
It's like Rey and Finn and Poe were cut out from my id. Especially Rey and Finn, good golly molly and a day. The little bit about handholding, where Rey scolds him for grabbing onto her constantly - but then changes her mind and does it back - MY HEART. And I love that they both have moments where they just desperately try to run, even though they both know that they have nowhere to go (Finn gets it together and comes up with an actual escape plan later and does pretty well - Rey stops and stands her ground for BB-8's sake and because she always knew the truth: there is nowhere for her to go, the past and the future will always go with her, and so will her own power.) I love that the First Order looks all encompassing and all powerful to Finn, who has never been outside it, and that while Rey doesn't want to be alone, being alone and lost in hostile territory holds no special existential terror for her anymore. Such is her life in its entirety to date.
