How I know I'm Home...

Sep 07, 2007 18:21

My brother just came up stairs singing "Oh, Saint Peter blow your horn! But I can't go, I owe my soul to the company store."

I sang it back to him.

And then he went back down to watch cartoons.

! I used to have that song! I was singing it at the Adirondacks to try to describe it to Mama and Maria, but neither of them knew what I was talking about.

I'm moving in with you. XD

:D I could probably find a copy of some version or other for you. I don't currently have one on my computer, but there's a pretty good collection of folk at the library.

:D :D :D You might want to wait until we have a stove again, but that'd be cool!

Really? That would be wonderful if you could. It was on the Peter, Paul and Mary CD that I lost.

Oh, still!

:D Thanks!

(he's thirteen and a bass already - his choir director's a bit bemused.)

I always liked that song. :D For some reason especially the bit that goes "if you see me coming better step aside/a lot of men didn't, a lot of men died." The version my Mom had on cassette also had a bit about his mother. "A hard-born woman, made us walk the line."
