Looks like the maturity level has taken a nosedive again.
Yes, I'm talking about the whole wankfest on Mecha Erotica. I missed it because I was taking my daughter to a doctor appointment but I heard about it later. Read the comments when they were reactivated. Shook head and facepalmed a lot. Saw some of the other comments people made in their own journals too.
I have to say, I'm rather disappointed by the way some people are acting. Throwing a tantrum because someone won't let you post to their comm because your story doesn't fit their criteria? Then posting to your own journal in all caps gloating about it? Not the most mature behaviour. Here's a little dose of humble pie for you people. You are not such awesome writers that everyone is going to enjoy your stories. You will have your little followings and cliches of devoted readers who enjoy your work and tell you are awesome but beyond that? Expect a little negative feedback. You are not right all the time and not everyone will agree with you. And you will win more people over by accepting that gracefully than acting like a 3 year old.
I'll end my opinion with a suggestion and a blanket statement.
Suggestion - Suck it up and apologize and try to act with a little maturity and dignity. Because if you are actually old enough to be on that comm, you had better start acting like it.
Blanket statement - If by whatever means, I come across someone who has lied about their age to get onto that comm, and I have twice now, I will henceforth be reporting them to the moderators. I didn't before because these people acted mature enough and were almost old enough then. But I'm drawing the line now.
