Well, I haven't posted in a long time and noticed that LJ has this nudge feature. Only one of my friends really posts here anymore and I enjoy reading my friends entries, so I considered it. Then I remembered that I haven't written lately, and that would be hypocritical. So...
Last night's adventure:
Not really an adventure, just an outing to a Rockies game. The Rockies were playing the Mariners, and Wendy's from Washington, so she wanted to go, and I went also. Wearing a Red Sox hat. Anyways, we get there, we sit down, we look at the screen. Tornado watch is in effect until 9. We laugh and take pictures. A large black cloud is looming in (can something loom in?) from behind us. Screen changes. Severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 6:45. At that point it was around 5:30 and a delay of the game had been called. Our friendly black cloud was over us enough that we could watch the lightning without turning around. Once the rain stopped sparsing and started getting heavier, we wandered out of our seats to get under cover and to get a better view of the storm. There's something about the clouds in Colorado where they kind of go all the way to the ground, or pretty close, that the lighting doesn't look as bright.
The storm passed and the game started. We had fun. I decided to root for the Rockies, because they were the home team, but more because Wendy was for the Mariners. The game was fun, the Rockies won, and in the end it was a successful outing. Yay.
edit: Watching today's Rockies game on tv, and in the 6th inning the game is delayed by a tornado warning in Denver.
And now there's a tornado warning for all of Weld County (where I am), so if the thunderstorm actually rolls over here, I might go spend some quality time in the basement. Luckily, Ashley's in the house, so we'll be able to hang out with each other if it comes to that.
