“This is really good,” Ryan said, finishing the egg fried noodles Sarah had prepared for their last night together before Sam returned home after spending the week in York on a school field trip.
“I’m going to ignore the surprise in that statement and take it as a compliment,” Sarah said, but she couldn’t stop a slight smile from spreading across her face.
“Sorry, it’s just you don’t have the best track record when it comes to cooking.”
Sarah took a sip of her wine. “You’re never going to let the whole exploding potato incident go are you?”
Ryan smirked. “I thought you knew you were supposed to prick it with a fork before you put it in the microwave, that’s all.”
“Well, I can guarantee I’ll never forget it. Besides, I always said the two things I can cook well are egg fried noodles and French toast, and if you’re lucky you’ll be French toast tomorrow morning. ” She raised an eyebrow suggestively, and the implication clearly wasn’t lost on Ryan.?
“Still hungry?” she asked.
“Not for anything to eat,” he replied, grinning.
