It's pretty safe to say that i've come across a plethora of existentially legitimate "gripes" with the All-Mighty. Certainly my life is a category 5 verifiable shitastrophe, but I've got to say my major gripes lie with what has befallen others. I don't have the audacity, dare I say patronizing capacity, to "pity" them. They are those whose lives we celebrate as they are no longer with us to do so themselves. This entry is dedicated to those people in our lives as well as those whom we never had the privilege of knowing.
In memory of Kaitlyn Marie Schwartz
Kaitlyn's Journey
By Jackie Williams
Not long ago
our journey begins
so carefree
with so many grins
So much love
from so many places
smiling hearts
and smiling faces
But there was something
that nobody knew
This baby would fight
more than most of us do
Mommy so brave
and Daddy so strong
never believed
there was something so wrong
Their little girl
with a spirit so bright
sweet baby life
so filled with light
was thrown into war
She fought great battles
when most little ones
were playing with rattles
A soothing song
soft lullaby
wrapped in love
no need to cry
Little one
with no more tears
no more pain
and no more fears
You've left us now
taken too soon
to fly amongst
the stars and the moon
Little girl
a journey complete
Your cooing smile
God will greet
Angel baby
you've gained your wings
and there's so much more
this new journey brings
We can't see you
but we feel you still
Your sweet smile,
your strength and your will
You'll be with us tomorrow
like you're with us today
dancing in Heaven
you laugh and you play
No more worries
in your little heart
and no matter what happens
we'll never part
God's newest angel
gazing down from above
Watching over us all
surrounded with love
~EMT~
you're gonna carry that weight.
