Grrrrrrrr sewing machine

I am fighting with my sewing machine. The tension is too tight on top, no matter what I do. I have the tension dial below 0. I HATE MY SEWING MACHINE. I really don't want to have to pay another $200 for a new sewing machine because of the stupid tension problem.

WHY?
