So, now what?
So OK......I'm engaged! Finally! I've only had to wait 6 years for this guy to make up his mind. Even then he needed a bit of a push. Or was it blackmail?
Now the big question is where and how to get married. I'm not very bridal - apparently I didn't get the bride gene that all other women apparently have because I'm not excited about the prospect of picking out china or a dress or invitations or any of that crap. BUT I also don't just want to go to the courthouse. I actually WANT to get dressed up and have a celebration, but I want it to be really small - like 20 people or some tiny number. The problem is that we both have so many family members that it would be impossible to just invite 10 each. Good lord, my sister's family is 6 people alone - if you count kids as people that is. (Yeah, I know I know, kids are people too, and they're precious and I should love kids, yadda yadda yadda.)
Anyway, I've picked up a few bridal magazines for inspiration, but WOW. I didn't realize you could get so carried away with this crap. Most of it makes me want to barf because it's so cheesy romantic and over the top. Whatever happened to intimate and low-key?
