Mmmkay, well I suppose it's been awhile since I've posted a REAL entry, so here you go! My last few days...
Tuesday-Friday~ Kelley and her mom picked me up Tuesday morning to go to Wisconsin. It was really fun, although I've come a few conclusions. First, I'm never, ever living in a town that small. (pop 339) Everywhere we went, people felt the need to stare. I don't know if it's because they didn't know us, or because we didn't act Bagley-ish enough for them. And by this, I mean waving at everyone who passes and stopping for conversation. This one guy was in a car, and we were about to cross the street, but he waited for us. I waved, you know, just a thank-you wave, and he proceeded to roll down his window, lean out, and go, "You're welcome!" Little kids on the playground asked us to push them on the twirly thing. Every single car that went by us slowed down so its driver could stare. The general store was closed at random times during the day. Like one in the afternoon, or eight thirty at night. Yeah.
Secondly, SPF 30 does nothing for my skin. Or maybe it's SPF 34. I put on my normal sunscreen, and then another additional sunscreen, and I ended up turning beat red. Want proof? Not my most flattering pose, but look at that
nice burn! (More about the pictures later...)
And lastly? Riding rocks. Even if you haven't been on a horse in years, and you get a horse named "Buck," hopefully for his coloring (buckskin), although the crowhops he emitted don't really support this theory. Really though. He was a fun horse. It's just not all that comforting when you're in plain view of a road with random semi trucks or cars or whatever driving by quite quickly, and the horse's owner says, "yeah, we would have gone up on the trails, but Buck here's not road safe." Haha. But seriously? There's something so completely right about sitting on a horse. I don't know what it is. But I really don't feel that same comfort behind the wheel of my mom's car, and she says that (supposedly) is the same thing. Then again, she freaks out every time a horse is near.
Saturday~ Nicole called me and asked if I was busy. The answer was an overwhelming no... especially as I was still vegging out on the couch even though it was about three in the afternoon. Laziness is good, okay? So my mom drove me over to the Daffron's that afternoon. We didn't have much to do, so we experimented with makeup... and then brought out the digital camera and started taking random pictures. Well, the battery died after awhile, so we went all photoshop on some of the pictures. They actually turned out quite cool. The ones of us we pretty much left alone... but we have some pretty awesome spider webs and hands that look like they're flicking people off but really aren't.
Sunday~ I was supposed to go to Rejoice, the church I went to before GS, but my mom and I missed the service. Fun. We did, however see an old friend or two. I kinda waited around the house all day... because I was supposed to hang out with Ross... but I still hadn't talked to him and didn't even know if he was home or not yet. So finally around two he texted me and asked if I wanted to hang out today (Monday) which obviously meant he forgot about yesterday, lol. But it's okay. At least I get to see him today. We still haven't talked for more than three or four minutes, so I still kinda miss him... it's been forever! But at least we don't really have to be apart the rest of the summer, seeing as how the rest of our vacations are going to be spent together.
And today? Today I'm just lounging around and trying to have a true summer day. At least, until 5 when Ross is done babysitting.
Yeah. I thought it was pretty boring too. Sorry!
