X-Men 3
So yea, I just got out of the midnight showing of X3, and I am VERY pleased to say that I loved it! I went into the movie expecting a whole lot of crap, and I came out feeling pleasantly surprised. I won't give away details because most people still haven't seen it yet, but I will say that Storm has a MUCH bigger role in the movie (supposedly Halle Berry said she wouldn't do it unless she had a bigger part). I was very afraid because if anyone has seen the other movies, we all know Halle Berry as Storm is just friggin HORRIBLE (Do you know what happens when lightning strikes a toad? The same thing that happens to everything else - WTF?!?! GENIUS!). ANYWAY, I'm pleased to say Halle Berry has gotten rid of her pathetic attempt to give Storm an accent like she's suppose to have and replaced it with pretty damn good acting (for her that is). Not once throughout the movie did I feel she was too cheesy or THAT bad of an actor.
This movie also does a pretty damn good job of showcasing just how powerful Jean Grey is when she is Dark Phoenix. Yes, you don't get to see the Pheonix's true power, but it was a thousand times better than what I expected (i.e. some stuff flying around).
The whole point of this is to convince yourself before you see this film that it's going to blow. Then, when you go see it, you'll be pleasantly surprised that it kicks MUCH more ass than you thought it would, and in reality, it is a very entertaining worthwhile movie to go see.
Oh... and stay until after the credits are over.
