Goren and Nichols were dug deep into the life and deaths of Jim Rawlings when Liz’s bodyguards called. Bobby made arrangements for them to take her to his home and stay with her until he arrived. Liz was short when she spoke with him. She understood of course but had had a hard day, herself.
Nichols snapped his phone shut. “They have a missing person, woman apparently taken from the lot of a club last night about an hour after Ross heard the noise. Darla Wright --22. Club’s about ten minutes away from the drop. Car left in the lot the keys on the ground by the door along with her purse signs of a struggle.”
Bobby sighed, “Another dead woman, another notch for the bastard.”
Nichols scratched his neck, “Maybe she’s still alive.”
“Then she’s living through hell right now.”

Darla lay limply in the darkness waiting for the two demons to return. Even now some apparatus from the wall was ramming something in and out of her vagina and ass.
But besides motion she felt no pain from that over the burning fire of the whip and crop strips over her body and the knife marks cut into her upper breasts. The demon got great pleasure from stabbing and deflating her implants. Even now she felt the slow trickle of fluid and blood from the wide cuts.
She’d been forced to suck the demon’s cock and suckled the witch with him. Her nipples throbbed where they’d sucked so hard and bitten. He’d promised a special treat for them tomorrow. The worst had been when she’d been flipped to her belly and while he sodomized her the female had whipped and beaten her.
When they’d flipped her back she thought her skin had peeled off as the blood had coagulated between her and the marble and the suction from the pulling up caused her to lose consciousness.
Then she woke to the darkness on her back all she had was pain cold and the whirr of the machine fucking her. She lay on her back knees bent and held open by something. Her nipples clamped. her arm tied to the table. She tried to move but her back's coagulasted blood had her suctioned to the marble.
Darla no longer prayed for a savior. Darla prayed for death.

Alex lay in her bed the Phenobarbital helping with the withdrawals. Unfairly she blamed all of this on Bobby. He was supposed to protect her. He knew what Rawlings was and let her go with him. And her family sided with him and put her in this place. He’d brought Ross and Rodgers into this too. She’d never forgive him, never.
She shivered again as a shaft of desire and memory of the pleasure of the White Pearl streaked through her. Rawlings be damned her hand moved to pinch and pull a nipple while the other slipped under her panties to pleasure herself.

Liz stalked through the apartment. Wound up and not coming down. She tried calming herself by unpacking her things and putting them in his extra bedroom. Even the cup of tea she made herself did not help. She made coffee for Jeff and Mike one with a chair at the door the other stayed close to her. Unable to eat she parked in front of the television, but all she saw was the corpse of that girl, that should have had her face.

The laptop slammed shut. Nichols looked up.
“I’ve looked under every name connected with Rawling, his family, and his friend Henry. No other property anywhere.”
Bobby’s frustration mirrored Nichols own. The room fairly sizzled with pent up energy. “Let’s call it a night. As you said earlier, we’ve lost Darla.”
“It’s the next girl I’m lookin’ to save.”
It was a struggle to get Bobby to go until he mentioned Liz and the demons she was facing alone.

Bobby hung up his coat and nodded to the officer to collect his partner and go. Liz had her face set, arms crossed staring at the TV. Having been chased by his own demons for his entire life he recognized the signs.
He left her sitting and set about cooking dinner. Siding the casserole into the oven he pulled out the blender poured a little tequila in a saucer and sea salt into another and blended the margarita. He swirled the glass in the saucer’s liquid then twirled it with a practiced hand in the salt. He poured from the blender and into the glass and added the jigger from the saucer. A slice of lime for decoration. He paused at the bar and poured himself a scotch.
He set the fancy drink on a coaster beside Liz and took the chair trying to calm himself enough with a stiff drink to get into to the movie. When he rose to refill his glass he reached for her empty one, he took and refilled them both. As he set hers on the table her hand covered his. He looked down into eyes pooled with tears. “She shouldn’t have died. That should have been me.” Bobby pulled her into his arms sat and bundled her against him while the dam broke and the flood raged.

Ross paced outside Liz’s apartment furious she wasn’t there and that he’d not bothered to ask where she was staying. Her phone went straight to recording. He couldn’t understand her reticence in coming back to him. He’d always thought of himself as a bit of a lady’s man and Liz was a woman of character not beauty so men weren’t exactly beating down her door. She should be grateful he wanted her. He was getting tired of chasing her no matter how great a lay she was.
Frustrated he stormed to the elevator already pulling out his little black book to call the blonde down in personnel.

Bobby fed Liz dinner and helped her change into her favorite long cotton nightgown. Put her to bed. She immediately turned toward the walls sliding in beside her; his arm circling her waist he pulled her back against the heat of his chest.
Its not your fault, its me he's taunting Liz. I know you close your eyes and see yourself in her place but that wasn’t meant to be. I’ll give you one absolute truth, I’ll find the bastard and he will pay.”
“Kill him, Bobby...like the rabid animal he is.”
“I can’t promise that. But I will stop him.”
He might have trouble fighting his own demons, but from childhood he learned how to be there and take care of others.
