Figured I would talk about music for a bit, simply because I had a bit of a revelation on my way home. Seriously, what's up with the radio these days? I listen to 3 primary radio stations (WBCN, WAAF, WBRU) in that order. So two of them are pretty similar with BRU bringing some of the indie/weird stuff I haven't really heard before. On all three stations, in the span of 1 hour, I heard Machine Head by Bush. Really? Why that song? I'm getting confused; I like Bush and everything, but not the same song that often. I don't even particularly like that song, come to think about it. Nirvana irks me as well, mainly because it's Nirvana (also been getting a ton of radio play). I think I might be the only person that doesn't like them - anyone who makes whining, suicide, Seattle, and flannel doesn't really deserve to be listened to for years to come. I get it, it was revolutionary, but can we finally move on? (Dave Grohl, however, is a saint if not a God). Tons of Weezer songs have been playing recently as well. It's probably because they're new album comes out soon/maybe has already come out, but it's still driving me insane. I don't really like Rivers or any of his music. The good thing is that you can (gasp) change the station if you don't like something. Which is pretty much the thing I do whenever these things come on - and it's always to a better song. Thinks have been working out nicely like that.
The Offspring is coming out with their new album, which I'm thinking about buying. I really like their new single, Hammerhead, and if that's the sound they went with (traditional Offspring) then I'm most likely going to enjoy it. I'm growing increasingly appreciative of NIN, which is weird. I think my music horizons are beginning to expand a little; there's only good music and bad music. My opinion of what's automatically is definitely starting to change, but what is automatically pretty good has remained pretty much the same. It's good - it means more music and more opportunities to listen to something new. In that vein, if anyone has any suggestions I'll gladly check it out.
Work's been rough. It's probably because there are 3 different jobs. It's been outstanding so far, and I'm happiest when I'm super busy, so I've really not had too much to complain about. A genuinely happy and content Tom Hunt...who knew? Things have been looking good for a long while now, and I don't see anything in the future that will change it.
Go Celtics.
