bad day bad day BAD DAY >:(

Jun 25, 2012 16:56

this has been my day. All this sprinkled with texts to Chris with bad news. Which is stressing him the hell out, which is making me feel worse I can't find a solution. That's just how I am.

ok, the money wasn't in my account, so I call. Apparently the check is on it's way, but I'm getting less than half what I was told. Turns out a lot of it was tied up in stocks I didn't even know i had, since I didn't know I had them i didn't check the stupid box, and now have to wait an extra two weeks before I can get the process started to cash those out. And they appear to have taken taxes out which I specifically said not to.

Did the online chat with Charter to transfer services. Apparently they DON'T provide service out there, contrary to what I was told the last time I called. WTF.

CALL charter to verify, she said they don't. awesome.

Call directTV since the neighbors said they have internet through AT&T via DirectTV. Go through the whole process of setting up service. Was given another phone number to call to set up the bundle.

Call other number. Oh, yes AT&T proves phone service but not internet, we have no ISPs for your location. Again, WTF.

Check AT&Ts website, they don't provide service.

Start checking other companies like Dish. Same thing, phone, no internet.

Call DirectTV and cancel setup. Have to explain that it would have been nice and saves a lot of time if they would have even bothered to check if the services I specifically asked for were even available BEFORE going through the entire process.

Start looking into straight satellite internet. holy crap. there's caps on how much data you can use, and it's ungodly expensive.

Try Comcast and Time Warner cable. According to them, Charter is my provider. go BACK to charter's website, punch in address, lo and behold, there's bundles and all sorts of packages available! Oh boy!! ;p

Very frustrated, call charter AGAIN (I have to say at least everyone I've had to talk to today has been VERY nice and has sounded genuinely sorry for my situation) and ask how I can be told two different things, their website shows this but I'm being told no. The lady did some extra digging, they provide for the AREA, not that exact address yet. ok, whatever.

At this point I have almost no fingernails left, and i haven't bitten my nails in YEARS.

Call AT&T. Find out their hard-line service (cable, internet, DSL) ends two houses up the road. TWO FREAKING HOUSES.

We're off the map. There be dragons here, and apparently service providers are SCARED of them.

Put in a request to extend their service down a few hundred feet, we'll see if that happens. I'm not holding my breath.

Look into every ISP company I can think of or is suggested to me. Finding jack. This one is too slow, verizon mobile broadband can't handle the files, this one doesn't go there, that one doesn't go there, over and over again.

Next is to try and find a local phone company that provides DSL. And then I'm totally out of ideas. WildBlue wants $137 a MONTH for a cap of 25GB. Which sounds like a ton, and it is, but with his classes, he's constantly uploading and downloading HUGE files. He'll blow through multiple GBs in a single night.

I'm so frustrated, my energy is tapped out. I've hardly eaten today and just want to cry. And with people moving in, we have to move out. We've signed the lease (but haven't returned it yet), which we could POSSIBLY get out of, but we'd be homeless. It's freaking 2012, this SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE!!! >.< The house is LESS THAN 15 FREAKING MINUTES FROM HERE!!! WHAT THE HELL???!?!??!?!?
