Climbing

Last trip of the season went well. I wish so bad I could go again. The leaves and the valley from the naked face of the cliff were incredible. Still a few days from peak color, but still breathtaking.

I (yes, I'm proud. Sue me :) ) managed to scale the cliff almost entirely with my balance and application of good footwork alone. I fell inward toward the cliff twice (resulting in touching my hands to the rock face) and never came off the rock. Made it all the way to the top and touched the rope-anchor system. "Look ma! No hands!" That route is a 5-3 with hands, for reference.

I got to just push myself and really get lost in the challenge of going up the rock in routes that are not easy or laid out by description. BarelyNo idea on judging their individual difficulty as I have been away from it for far too long to be accurate.

Everyone beat a personal goal for the trip. Everyone has a good bruise or two. Everyone was smiling arriving and leaving.

Good run.
