omg Cassel.

I am so comfortably shallow when thinking of that man. Unf. Did you like it?

Unffff.

I did! I'm... still undecided on how much I love it, though. I do know that I enjoyed it? Somehow I feel like it's one of those movies I'll enjoy more on a second watch.

Yeah, it is a bit... I don't know. It's everything I expected, but it's an Aronofsky movie. At least it's not like Requiem, which left me wanting to curl up in a little ball.

Favorite scenes? 70 minutes into the movie and Everything Gets Worse. I loved everything with mirrors (omfg whyyyyy are there so many mirrors so damn scary), especially when she is taking measurements and then the rehearsal late at night. And the black swan dance, such wonderful effects.

Natalie makes a wonderful Odette. Mila Kunis as Odile, though... I still don't know. I wasn't really sold on the non-fakedness of her dance; it could be imperfect, but she wasn't moving much like a trained dancer.

There are so many themes subtly approached, I adored how those were done, in particular how damn repressed Nina is.

Requiem made me want to die a million deaths at the end. I can't speak for an hour after watching it, it's just that profound.

When everything started going to the shitter, my friend actually gripped my hand and tugged me closer, hahaa. I was able to watch all of the scenes except the last hospital scene with Beth. Urgh. I'm still unsure what happened. Without spoiling anyone who wants to see it, was it Nina who did it? I was so confused, but I had my suspicions.

Yeah, there were some points we were a bit "ehnnn". And would their company even allow them to dance with their hair down? That seemed like a bit of a stretch.

I like how they built up the tension. And even at the end, you still end up surprised and second-guessing yourself, or just being... plain confused. I'll definitely need a second watch of this. :| Will have to anyway, since my mom wants to see it as well. Bit of an awkward movie to watch with your mother, though. Ahemm.

The hospital scene--if you mean to herself, yes, it was Nina. That scene crept me out horribly. Winona Ryder is such a wonderful cast for Beth's role.

The hair made me go O___o It was a bit unprofessional, I was left going "but... are there no spare hair bands around here?" And lovely ballerinas who keep their figure through cheeseburgers. (With enough cheese.)

I think "plain confused" pretty much sums it up, yep xD The one thing in that final scene that stuck out to me was the fact that no one noticed what was happening with Nina until... was it Lily?... pointed it out. I understand not realizing if she's dancing and has her side/back to the side of the stage, where the other dancers are, but... after the end of the ballet? It was odd.

I watched it alone. Should be interesting watching it with a relative xD

No way I could watch that. Well, I really peeked through my fingers, but I couldn't watch it completely. And yesss she was so good.

Honestly, I could see Lily eating a cheeseburger because she wasn't very professional anyway, lmao. Hair flying, bumping into her partner, not being very, well, graceful. Yeah, she's not faking it, but she's not trying to dance either. Maybe we could just chalk it up to Mila not being trained enough for the role. The weight loss ruined her technique? idk.

I'm just. Really surprised she could dance through that and not keel over, and yeah, NO ONE NOTICED. The look she gave her mom... ;__; Sad. How does no one see that against a white dress.

I'll have to warn her. Then again, we're watching True Blood together... and it has sex scenes, too. With boobs galore.

I was glued to the screen. Mostly because I was too shocked to look away, and then realized it was Nina, and hellooooooo trainwreck in my brain.

I wondered how the company would accept a trained dancer transferred from somewhere else, give her the alternate role, when that dancer was so flaky as Lily. Perhaps it was just Leroy (mmmm Leroy you can abuse me whenever, ffff remember the scene in his apartment? Awwwwkward!) trying to push Nina further, but it almost backfired when she woke up late.

And then you realize that happened (if it ever did!) before the black swan scene, and ask how? IDK, it works, and the result is beautiful. But yeah, no one noticing it rubbed me the wrong way (but again--did it happen? Paranoia fuel, so much.

...and high-speed vampiring on camera omg so disgusting.
