three-hundred & eleven.

Alright, so. Harry Potter. My fingers and toes are still defrosting but I'm writing a review, damnit. Overall I'll say this: I liked it. The special effects were omguh. The three mains have definitely improved in their acting. The rest will find its way under a cut.

THE GOOD
♞ special effects. wao.
♞ the Tale of the Three Brothers animation was brilliant
♞ dark, just how I like it
♞ Dobby is cute forever
♞ the green screen scenery was very pretty
♞ Jamie Campbell Bower as Grindelwald? yes please.
♞ Lucius looked appropriately terrible
♞ the dance was cute and terribly dorky
♞ the music HNNNGHH
♞ George sticking his toothbrush in his earhole. l m f a o.
♞ the scene with the multiple Harrys was fucking hilarious

THE BAD (this is where I get elitist)
♞ Hermione's dress at the wedding was red. But I already knew this from the trailers.
♞ they skipped quite a few scenes, but not all of them were necessary
♞ Bill's hair was NOT IN A PONYTAIL (but he did have the scars from Fenrir)
♞ Daniel Radcliffe's lips are too thin
♞ DOBBY OMGGGGGGGG this is how I feel about Dobby
♞ Bellatrix didn't use the Cruciatus curse on Hermione, but rather carved Mudblood into her arm (with a sadly animated blood drop falling from it)
♞ Rufus Scrimgeour didn't have a beard, nor did he look lion-like, and Bill Nighy seemed to be putting on a fucking ridiculous accent (he doesn't talk like that, I know how he talks)
♞ this isn't really bad, but I totally imagined Mundungus to look.. like a hobo. like Santa Claws living on the street, only short and malnourished.
♞ no polyjuice potion/invisi cloak in Godric's Hollow
♞ actually no invisi cloak IN THE ENTIRE MOVIE, except in the Brothers animation
♞ no polyjuice potion at the wedding
♞ Snape's hair was too pretty and not stringy and greasy and WHO GAVE HIM SHAMPOO
♞ no Krum at the wedding
♞ no Potterwatch!? on which note, obviously no Dean Thomas
♞ I still hate Narcissa's hair. idgi.
♞ the three of them turned back to normal during their escape from the MoM, and only one person recognized him? When there are POSTERS OF HARRY EVERYWHERE?
♞ really unorganized planning for break in at Ministry of Magic
♞ Harry didn't take Mad-Eye's eye from Umbridge's door
♞ I imagined Albert Runcorn to be more... scary. he's described as huge and intimidating in the book (or at least, one guy was scared of him).
♞ nooo Andy or Ted Tonks, but then again, no portkeys either
♞ this is less this movie's fault, but Bill/Fleur was random because there was no buildup from GoF and HBP.
♞ Harry was, err, not weirded out by Balthilda speaking Parseltongue to him?
♞ NO CHARLIEEEE 8(
♞ Hermione wasn't angry enough when Ron came back
♞ the scene out of the locket was LOL OMG, NAKED HERMIONE AND HARRY MAKING OUT...
♞ I don't like how they emphasized Hermione/Harry, because he explicitly states he doesn't think of her in any way than as a sister (but Ron's jealousy was believable)
♞ too little Phlegm being a bitch. she was too nice in the GoF movie.
♞ creative libertiessss ahoy (see: trailer park)
♞ Fenrir Greyback got, I think, zero lines. but the head Snatcher was strangely attractive.
♞ not enough Jamie Campbell Bower ;lahdjs
♞ Bella's hair was terrible. I'm sorry. No more hairspray/wigs for Helena.
♞ the single Bella hair falling slow motion onto nearly passed out Hermione... seemed random unless you've read the book and know she uses it for polyjuice potion
♞ they didn't include the Dursley goodbye scene (okay we saw them pack away), but... after having them in each movie, and treating him horribly, I would've liked to see it how it was in the book, where at least Dudley shook his hand, etc.
♞ Kingsley's patronus WAS NOT LYNX-SHAPED
♞ errr since when could Harry and Ron perform silent spells
♞ they never announce when Harry gets the trace off him, because he makes a big deal of it in the book. Hermione just goes OH NO WE DIDN'T CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY, WE MADE A CAKE, and an awkwardly scripted conversation ensues. By the way, director? They hold his birthday party the night before the wedding in the book.

... wow, I make this movie seem really horrid, but it's mostly me being picky. I really did enjoy it. Honest. It was wao in IMAX (but I'm so tired of that 5 minute IMAX introduction; get to the damn movie already). Additionally, I understand it's a movie and they don't need to copy the book. I'm just giving the differences; they don't make me like it any less.

In other news, Tron in IMAX 3D is happening, yes.

omg jears, movie: harry potter, book: harry potter, lmfao
