There's a new Indigo Girls album out today. And I'm reacting to it pretty much the way I usually do, which is a predictable combination of the following:
Enjoying some Amy songs!
Enjoying some Emily songs!
Finding a few songs that make me wince, and skipping them!
FALLING MADLY IN LOVE WITH A SPECIAL FEW.
These are the few. Download them. Trust me. Just... trust me.
DamoI don't know what this song is about, except that it's something about Ireland, and something about war. But I feel like this is the song that I have been waiting for, without even knowing it. This is what would happen if Amy suddenly gave one of her songs an Irish flavor. This is the song that proves Amy would sound amazing if she decided to cover Carbon Leaf one day. The sound is so full and epic and beautiful, and I have NO IDEA WHAT THE STORY IS, or what inspired her to write it, but AMY! IRELAND! Those are two of my favorite things.
YokeI love this one in a slightly quieter, less capslocky sort of way. This song is different than "Damo," but no less epic for it. Amy has become such a stunning songwriter in recent years. I can't even believe the gorgeousness of the work she did on this album.
