Current News: It passed. Yes, that would be proposition 2, the texas amendment to ban gay marriage.
The overwhelming majority of society makes me sick.
So yes, it's gone. (That would be my hair I'm referring to.)
They won by 76%. It's sad to know that over 3/4ths of Texas' population (possibly more) are so ignorant. There is so much discrimination, I swear, and so much ignorance. An incredible amount of ignorance. Predjudice. Do you know what? Let me give you an example. The other day I went to Chick-Fil-A. I got a drink and was sipping on it at a table near the window while reading a book I had checked out from the library which caught my interest. The book was called 'Black Power, White Blood' and was about a young man by the name of Johnny Spain who was a half white, half black man growing up in the 1950's. It was about how he dealt with his life, what kinds of hardships he endured, and how he eventually overcame them (to the extent possible anyway). Well, ironically, while enjoying a day of from work and beautiful sunshine and a good book, I was approached and interrupted by a young girl about my age. I don't remember the exact words, but I can paraphrase. "WHITE POWER, BLACK BLOOD?!? (yes, she even got the title wrong when she exclaimed it. It is BLACK power, WHITE blood. Although that is far from important...) OOOH, you racist b*tch. I should pop you upside the head for that. You're lucky I'm in a good mood today. But you're going to hell, you racist dyke."
Interesting, to call someone a racist dyke. Kind of contradicting...in my own personal oppinion. I'm the one supposedly being the discriminator, yet she calls me a dyke. I would have liked to explain to her what the book was about, and give her a reality check, so that maybe next time she wouldn't open her mouth so fast, without knowing what she's talking about. However, she walked straight out right then, along with a few of her friends.
Hmmm.
I could definitely throw up right now. Society seriously gives my stomach a queasy feeling.
I think I'll move to Canada. Or /somewhere/ else eventually.
Man, I feel sick. SickENed in particular.
