"I say to my reflection, 'God, please spare me more rejection!'"

So karaoke is fun. It's been over a day since we went and my voice is still shot, but that's just proof that it's fun. We're going again next week to celebrate Anne's 24th, which means I'll probably be hungover at work on Friday. The most interesting part of the evening (for me) was right after my first song. I got up and sang "Army" by Ben Folds. I sat back down, and after a minute this girl came up to me and said "Excuse me, but are you a REAL singer?" I sort of grimaced and said "Yes?" because I wasn't quite sure what was going on. She proceeded to tell me I was great and to ask me if I liked A Capella, to which I again replied in the affirmative. Short story short, she gave me her email address and asked me to come audition for her A Capella group sometime, because they're in need of guys. So, after my first ever time singing karaoke, I got recruited. Awesome.
The most interesting part of the evening for everyone ELSE was when Bill (the other young guy in the show who was there with us) got up and sang "Natural Woman," with the girls doing backup behind him. He danced with some cougars. It was spectacular.

In other news, I have no idea how to deal with girls. Y'all are a confusing breed. You wear clothes that cloud the mind (read: anything you wear, really, we get distracted because we know what's underneath), and you're all pretty and stuff. You say things whose meanings are clear to you but to us are as clear as something really not-clear (I suck at metaphor), leaving us unable to discern whether you like us or hate the sight of us. This isn't coming from anything specific, I'm just tired of not knowing where I stand.

In other other news- finally got my Amazon packages, after fighting with the USPS and Customer Service for several days. Now I can watch, in no particular order: Monkey Business, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Noises Off, Soapdish, and Kate and Leopold. Hooray for movies!
