I've got another notch in the October-is-awesome bedpost.
This evening while inbetween being domestic and my Deep Space Nine marathon I noticed that I was freezing sitting in my PJ's. It is finally cold enough to bust out my winter comforter from its dark hiding place in my large closet, where its been living since March. This is cause for celebration! Instead of the thin, puny, colorful summer blankets I've been using for months (the ones that you have because its hard to sleep without some sort of blanket on you but its just too hot to actually use a blanket) I am enshrouded with a wonderful plaid cotton friend.
For Advanced Directing we've been assigned scenes to do from Juno. I signed on to a group as Sound Mixer (Something I was unsure of my ability to do until recently, when I witnessed all three of the films I mixed sound on make it into the final Top 16 for CMF, all sounding rather fantastic if I don't say so myself) I get to work on the Juno-Leah discussion while they have lunch in the trophy case, and the opening scene where Juno constructs an entire living-room on Bleeker's front lawn. I'm sure it'll be fun.
Next week, famous documentarian Michael Moore (Farhenheit 9/11, Sicko) is coming to my department to teach a special class to most of the film department. I'm going to be in a small room with one of the world's most famous (if most politically controversial) film makers, and I get to ask him any question I want. I continue to be amazed.
