This morning I dreamt that I was a Victorian gentleman. Aaron, Jessica, Miles, Sam (again), and Zach were all late for our college graduation. In our gentle-clothes we boarded a steam locomotive and shot down the rails towards the town square, where we were to be magna-cum-laude -- Except the train wasn't steam powered, it was actually powered by water* and by human determination. The smokestack of the train was huge, hollow, clear, and filled with water (Think a Bacta tank from Star Wars) Jessica rode in the tank, powering the train with her brain, while Aaron and Miles fervently shoveled water into the boiler. I rode on the front, hanging off the side, my waistcoat and pocket-watch billowing in the breeze as we cruised down the rails. Eventually, we reached the town square (which was the Alameda County Fair) and jumped off the still moving train. We ran to the table, received our diplomas, and proceeded inside the Young California building, which was someone's living room. Then we watched Casablanca and reveled in our status as Graduates.**
It was a satisfying dream.
Also, The 500 Days Of Summer soundtrack is shaping up to be the best soundtrack from a film of 2009, with artists like Regina Spektor, Simon & Garfunkle, Hall & Oats, She & Him.
* = Water? Why water?
** = Oh, and my alarm was playing Beatles throughout the dream, so this entire ordeal was punctuated by "Cause I'm the Taxman....yeeaaaahhh I'm the Taaaxmaaaan."
