[Fate wandered about her house, restless. The growing chaos and the recent assault on the police station left her worried, particularly because she was at a loss as to what to do; the surprisingly strong acid rain, though easy for herself to deal with, made the environment much more dangerous for others, including her car which had seen far better ( Read more... )

They can come here, too, if you're concerned for them.

[It's a long time before Chrona speaks again. When she does, she sounds more nervous and panicked than usual.]

We... w-we're at a different house now...

Stay right where you are, Chrona. I will be there soon.

[And she is! She rides Cardiche to 767 Bunker Street very, very quickly, likely breaking several speed limits and hitting several drones in the process. She stops, hops out into the rain and the flooding water and calls for Chrona.]

[Chrona, who had been waiting uneasily just inside the house, bolts outside as soon as she sees that familiar car, nearly stumbling when she gets to the floodwater. Fate might notice that there are some tears in her clothing, but nothing too serious.]

R-Right here!

Bardiche.

YES, SIR! SCYTHE FORM.

[The tiny brooch transforms into a long, black poleaxe; the head of the axe bends back and a bright yellow saber appears from the joint, creating a scythe. Fate knocks any drone considering to target Chrona while making her way to the child in the deep water.]

[Thankfully, none of the drones managed to attack Chrona before she was able to reach Fate. Not that it would matter, anyway. The drones that attacked her earlier were definitely tough, but her black blood was enough to defend herself.

But still, the black blood didn't protect her from the elements. She was now standing in deep, cold water as more rain continued to fall down, so she looked even more miserable. Are you going to drag the poor woobie away from this crazy house now, Fate?]

[Bardiche's blade retracts and he turns back into a poleaxe. Fate hefts her weapon over her shoulder and reaches out to Chrona, offering the child her hand.]

Chrona, please take my hand. I'll help you to the car.

[For a split second, the scene looked entirely different to Chrona: a younger blonde girl, smiling as she held out her hand in an offer of friendship. Chrona blinked, and was brought back to the present.

Hesitantly, she reaches out with a shaking hand and grabs Fate's.]

O... Okay...

[Fate gently but firmly gripped Chrona's hand and pulled the girl along until they were to the car; Bardiche opened the doors remotely and Fate slid in.]

We're almost safe now, Chrona. Please buckle up. I'll be going a little fast.

[This was definitely not like the cars back home. Not that Chrona had really been in them a lot, but still. At least she managed to find the seatbelt!]

Um, I-I'm ready...

[And Fate FLOORS IT all the way back to her house and jumps out of the car. She readies Bardiche once again, just in case.]

You'll be safe inside, Chrona. Please come along.

[S-Sob so fast. Chrona quickly stumbles out of the far and follows Fate, keeping close behind her.]

[Fate made sure Chrona was close behind and got to the door quickly; she opened it and waited for Chrona to enter.]

Go in, Chrona; you're safe here. I promise.
