I wonder what sort of being is behind the actions of Mayfield: perhaps some powerful magic or unknown technology? I know of things which could be used to do what this town does, but all the magics and technologies involved are classified as highly illegal by the Space Time Administration Bureau.
All the more reason for me to be here. This is my job.

[Fate is outside her house, where there is now a black Ferrari Testarossa in the driveway. It is her magic-powered car from Mid-Childa and affectionately known as 'Cardiche'. She'll likely spend several hours thoroughly checking the vehicle--checking everything under the hood and on the bottom of the car--and then spending a few more hours thoroughly cleaning it. Since she's likely to get very dirty, oily, and wet, she'll be opting to wear a pair of her 'husband's' pants and an expendable white shirt.]
