jadekirk wanted Castiel/Misha and 'fictional'
And I thought... What if Misha were the fictional one? And then this happened and I don't know what this is. Come to your own conclusions on what Misha is.
Under a cut due to length.

Castiel never expected losing his grace to have such...interesting side effects.
The first time the man appears at his side, Castiel isn't doing anything noteworthy. He's walking down a road and Dean is on his left. On his right there's nothing but then he looks again and there he is. Misha. The man is matching Castiel's stride as if he'd been there the whole time and Castiel takes a moment to truly register him. Then he slams on the breaks and he's cutting a knife through the man before either of them can blink.
Absolutely nothing happens. The man looks down where Castiel had just slashed through his chest but he's unharmed. He looks up and grins.
“Cas! What the hell are you doing?” Dean demands but Castiel is too busy staring at this apparition to answer.
“Hi,” it says. “I'm Misha.” Then Misha winks at him and vanishes just as Dean's hand lands on Castiel's shoulder and jerks him around.
“You okay?” Dean is looking at him with worry while Castiel looks back over his shoulder.
“I... Didn't you see that?” The look on Dean's face clearly says that he didn't and Castiel begins to worry.

Misha turns up at least once a day after that. Usually at some mundane moment in Castiel's life. The life where he's slowly turning human and he has boring human tasks to complete. Like a shower and Misha will show up on the other side of the curtain, whistling some upbeat tune until Castiel is doing the same thing.
He walks out and Dean is staring at him wide eyed, “Were you just singing in the shower?”
Or he'll be shaving and Misha will advise him that he's nicked just beneath his jaw. Put some toilet paper on it for a minute.
He might be out for dinner with Dean and Misha will appear in the booth beside him. Castiel can't feel Misha even though Misha is pressed close. Maybe he's a ghost. That doesn't explain why Misha looks exactly like him. Maybe it's Jimmy but Castiel can't rationalize Misha's existence with that. He acts nothing like Jimmy. Misha recommends something off the menu and Dean looks put off that Castiel follows Misha's suggestion instead of Dean's.
It ends up being delicious. Misha really is very helpful.
**
Castiel stops worrying about it and Misha turns up more often.
He asks once, “Why are you here?”
And Misha shrugs. “I dunno. I think I come here when I'm sleeping. I guess I've been sleeping more often lately.” There's a flicker of worry in Misha's eyes that doesn't last. He tells Castiel to try the eggplant no matter how weird it sounds.
“You're a construct of my mind,” Castiel decides. “To help me adjust to being human.” That sounds logical to him.
Misha agrees with a shrug and says, “As long as you know that means you're insane.”
It doesn't explain how Misha knew that eggplant would be a good choice when Castiel has never tried it before. Nor heard the lyrics of the songs Misha sings him. It doesn't matter. Not when Castiel finds himself relying on Misha's presence and eventually Misha responds by never leaving again.
