Drabble #25
kaworu_renritsu wanted Gabriel/Castiel and 'coming back from the other side' and 'big brother is not amused'.

Gabriel once said to him, “Don't step on that fish, Castiel.” And he'd guided Castiel around it. Castiel hadn't even realized it was there but Gabriel had kept him on the path where the fish could not be hurt from Castiel's new and clumsy steps.
He hardly realizes when Gabriel does it again because there are no words. Only a presence that Castiel could never mistake, pulsing alongside the other souls of purgatory.
Castiel raises his hand to strike down the disobedient, the sinful, the wicked. He hesitates because such a strong flood of disappointment washes over him that he shies away. The next time, there's a hiss of anger through his grace. He's a little surprised to find he still has one.
It's what stops him from ripping apart Raphael's followers and the Winchesters and every demon in existence.
Once Gabriel said “Don't step on that fish.” Now Gabriel says “Don't step on that building.” And he steers Castiel in a different direction.
