Drabble #12
tawg wanted Jimmy and Jo interaction. Behind a cut because it's about 450 words. Gen fic.

The first time Jimmy sees Jo Harvelle, it's through Castiel's eyes. He sees Jo as beautiful, as strong, stubborn. Perfectly capable of living in this life and holding her own. But she's so young and when Jimmy looks at her, he can see Claire in her place with a startling clarity.
Claire is stubborn and selfless and has that sense of what's right about her. If Jimmy stares at Jo too hard, Claire takes her place. Thrust into this world because of her father because Jimmy just couldn't keep himself out of it and because of that, Claire had to experience it as well. And how do you get all this out of your head once it's been there, even if just for a second. Even if just in the periphery of the mind.
Please keep an eye on her. This isn't right, she's too young.
“She's a hunter,” Castiel answers him and dismisses all Jimmy's concerns as something hunters deal with every day.
That doesn't make it right. Claire...
“Will never be here.” That's Castiel's promise but Jimmy notices the change anyway. Castiel checks in on Jo often. Lends a hand here or there where Jo won't notice but Jo is a hunter so of course she does. Jimmy should have clarified that Jo probably didn't need any eyes on her while she's sleeping but Castiel has a habit of doing that to everyone. Dean and Sam and even Bobby on occasion.
She wakes up and the next thing Castiel and Jimmy know, there's a knife buried in the wood by their head and a pissed off looking hunter glaring them down. “Castiel...” she draws out his name in warning. “What are you doing?”
“Jimmy wished me to keep an eye on you. My vessel,” he clarifies while Jimmy stares into Jo's eyes, glad Castiel never looks away.
“An eye on me?”
“He's worried you're too young. I think his mind replaces you with his daughter.”
I can hear you.
Jo laughs, the same sort of laugh Claire gives him, complete with eye roll whenever she deems Jimmy is being too overprotective. “Can he hear me?” Castiel nods yes and Jo meets Jimmy's eyes. “I could run rings around you. You ever get out of there, I'll show you a thing or two.”
But the next time they meet is a roadhouse bar in Heaven. Jo still teaches him to play darts and kicks his ass every time.

I can probably throw Dr. Horrible in there too.
