Unsteadily holding on to the cracks in the foundation of warmth. Failing miserably with trembling fingers gripping the edges of what was destined to go away. Occasionally gaining back the strength to make days tolerable. Near the time of transition, the mind set settles into the idea that nothing can stay the same for long. Slowly giving in to what should and will come, giving into the change from comfortable to harshness. Summer bowed to Fall and then again Fall to Winter. The days grew cold and quick, long days turn into long nights. But even with the harshness that Winter too gladly set upon all things, Spring was able to sneak a hopeful glance at what would come during her time. Slowly whispering through sunrays, smiling through melting ice and early blooming flowers. Eventually Winter gives into Spring, sometimes sooner than we thought, or later than we hoped, she comes. Gleaming on the bright frozen faces, defrosting the rosy cheeks of those seeking the freedom of Summer. Spring gladly hands over the time to Summer, and Summer cheerfully receives it. Summer's reign is once again shorter then we would have wanted. Summer goes away once again, this time without so much as a goodbye. Slowly Summer slips away from us in the dead of night, whispering it's sweet goodbyes and introducing us to the inevitable transition into Fall's hands. We are forced to except the unchanging change of the seasons.
