Just found out about the coolest thing. The ladies at church are collecting milk bags to turn into sleeping mats for the orphanage our church helps sponser in Haiti.
What they do is take the bag and cut it into strips, then turn the strips into balls of 'wool'. Once they have enough, they crochet them into sleeping mats. These mats will keep people off the mud floors and will allow the water to seep through if it rains as there will be 'ventalation' holes. It is a very neat idea that mom and I will be starting in earnest. What a great way to go green.
If you want to learn more about this go to
. If you want to participate but don't want to do the manual labour, save your bags and send them to me. I will make sure they are made into bed mats for kids in third world countries. TTFN
