Life imitates art

Or at the very least, board game imitates history. My group of friends of I played a game of risk the other night, so we each picked a colour, and we shuffled the cards, and dealt them out, and settled down to world domination. There were a few historical jokes made, when I started from Mongolia and spread part way across Asia so Mandi called me Genghis Kahn (sp?) Next she took over all of Europe so I called her Hitler. The really ironic part though was when we looked at North America about an hour or so into the game. So here I am playing with the black pieces, and I control the southern 2 or 3 sections of North American. Daniel is the red pieces and he holds the three sections along the west coast. Then finally Jeff is playing the tan pieces (only they looked white to us) and he controls all the rest of North America, and is doing a good job of pushing me and Daniel out. One of life’s amusing little ironies.
