[clearly thrashing in a frustrated manner is a good option!! it isn't that he's not strong enough to break through the webbing, but he's gotten all kinds of tangled up in it and now this. today is just not a good day to be small.

squinting up at the shadowy figure...] I swear to God I'll tear your legs off and beat you to death with them if you try anything stupid.

[oh, that gets him to stop struggling for a moment. even if it's still hard to see, he recognises that voice.] Is this yours? [a vague flailing motion from one of his trapped hands, indicating the web]

You shouldn't struggle though, or you might hurt yourself!

I wouldn't be in danger of hurting myself at all if someone hadn't inconveniently placed a giant web right off of the sidewalk.

You've got to watch out for things like that when you're tiny, silly!

But, I mostly don't want you to struggle because it will make it harder for Yamame to eat you!

And here I thought being stepped on would be my worst obstacle to overcome. How foolish of me. [but he stops struggling so wildly, if only because he doesn't at all believe she'd eat him.]

Let me go already, would you? I've things to do.

[She didn't really think that would scare him...but having Charles trapped gives Yamame another idea.]

Nope, Yamame can't let you go yet. I won't really eat you...but there's something else I have to do!

[She crawls down the web until she's essentially right on top of Charles...and, taking advantage of his trapped state...gives him a big hug.]

[he looks a little wary as she approaches, but it quickly turns to surprise at the hug. he still has no idea how to handle kind gestures of affection like this and she'll probably find him a very uncomfortable person to hug with how rigid his posture is, though he does relax after a few seconds.]

...This isn't something you have to do. [scolding words, without the tone to match]

[Yamame mercifully lets go, and goes to work tugging at threads of her web. He'll notice that with each one, the tangling he's gotten himself into will get looser and looser.]

Yes it is! Nobody ever lets Yamame give them hugs unless they're trapped. Plus I had to scare tiny people so they wouldn't go wandering into real spider webs.

[decadenzas]

[it's pretty hard to resist the urge to start pulling again as soon as the strands start loosening up, but he manages to restrain himself. even his irritation has subsided a bit.]

I wonder why that is. [eyeroll] How many others have you managed to catch?

Um...Yamame doesn't remember. You're the fifth or so?

and wow he can't decide if he should feel impressed or slam his face into his hands.] Isn't it a hassle to catch and release so many?

Nope! Webs are easy.

Plus if I don't show them how to be careful and avoid spider webs when they're tiny they'll end up eaten! Then when people get big again they'll squish spiders out of spite and that's just mean.

[decadenzas]

It would be their own fault for being so careless. [he says this simply because he could kill a spider before it actually ate him... otherwise he would probably be taking the side of the people caught.]

That's why Yamame is teaching them, so they know better.

[Yamame plucks one last thread, the one that will finally fully release Charles.]
