[Yamame had been in her room for the longest time, playing with the hundreds of spider friends she keeps in there, in the dark, because it reminds her of the caves back home. She didn't stay home and hidden away for any serious reasons, she simply felt as if she were neglecting her spider-family and that's just not cool. But, the recent things

[Tachikoma is cutting through the park on another adventure in the town when a small girl suddenly stops it.]

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know this area was off limits today. I was just passing through. I can just find a way around then!

[Tachikoma pauses a moment as it further registers who stopped it. Why it's that Tsuchigumo girl it met way back when it first arrived!]

Oh! Miss Yamame! I didn't know you were security for the park!

[Yamame hits Tachikoma a few times with the stick gently.]

Well, I'm just outside to find my friends so I can take them back to my house and protect them...but...I don't think anyone could even hurt a big metal spider like you so I doubt you need Yamame's help!

[Tachikoma seems to give a nod in agreement to that.]

It is pretty hard to stop us Tachikomas, but it can happen. One time we were following a new heavy assault multi-ped tank and one of us got heavily damaged by it's machine guns. It had to have a full overhaul before it could be used again!

But it's extremely admirable to want to protect your friends! That's what I did back where I'm from!

I don't know what any of that stuff means, but the word for protecting your friends is "noble," I think!

Since you're so tough you should go protect people too! Then you'll be noble!

Oh? Do people need protected somewhere? It seems rather quiet where I've been and haven't seen anybody needing protection...

I do like to be helpful, but I also to hate to impose since sometimes people prefer to handle things themselves. And as things are now, I can't really do much protecting except with my body. Most of my systems are unavailable to me, so I can't do much else...

Oh, well, Yamame doesn't rightly know! I'm working off of assumptions because people have been acting funny on the phone!

Something about letters or something, and I can't use the things I got back anymore either! Since people say bad things happen sometimes, and they have before, I went outside to find people!

Yamame will beat people up with this stick!

Well, if I see anybody who is in trouble, I do at least offer to help, so I guess I can keep doing that at least. I hope whatever bad things are happening aren't too serious, it would be a shame to hear people were really hurt.

[The Tachikoma looks at the stick Yamame is carrying for a moment, almost like it is trying to gauge how much damage she could do with it.]

...You won't hurt any innocent people with that stick right? Just in defense of yourself and your friends?

[Yamame rests her stick against her shoulder, giving Tachikoma a heroic grin.]

Yep! Yamame will beat up the bad guys with it and bring friends home to be safe!

But don't forget to ask for help too, if you need it. Where I came from, Section 9 did it's best work when we worked together and not just one person trying to do everything themselves, alright?

[Yamame gives Tachikoma a pat on the chassis.]

Yamame will! Um...what was your name again?

Oh sorry, it's been awhile since we last met, hasn't it?

I'm Tachikoma!

[Tachikoma gives a wave hello as if to emphasize the name.]

Oh yea! Ta-chi-ko-ma! [She repeats it a few more times, either trying to make sure she's saying it right or to make sure she doesn't forget.]

If anyone needs help or a safe place to stay you can let Yamame know, okay?

Yamame will! Bye-bye Tachikoma! Next time Yamame will have to ride on you some more okay?

[With that, Yamame resumes her patrol...but it seems she might actually be breaking away from the park to look for her friends elsewhere.]
