Wow, it was busy this weekend. My best friend from college is going to be visiting this week so we spent most of this weekend digging out some of the gross from the house. I was relieved to find out that the bedroom was not nearly as disgusting as it originally appeared. And we managed to get three bags of usable, but not comfortable for us, clothing out to the charity bins. That freed up an amazing amount of space in one of my drawers. I still have the closet and one more drawer to go through, but that can wait a bit.
We ran a bunch of errands on Sunday, mostly to the hardware store to pick up the last few shades we need for the windows and also some screens for a couple of windows that don't have them. I can't wait to get the front porch shades up, that will really make a difference in keeping the house cooler during the day I am sure. Light just pours in through those windows and makes the kitchen unbearable.
The biggest thing for me was getting an old, gross, loveseat out of the house. I've had that loveseat since just after college and it was used when I got it. That thing was nasty! I've wanted to get it out of the house for years now, but never really got the opportunity or knew what to put in it's place. We decided to take the two blue chairs out of the living room (I've banged my toe just once too often on those chairs) and move them into the guest room. I was really worried about
bardicstorm maneuvering the loveseat down the stairs by himself, but he found a way to do it. Three flights is a LOT of steps. So HURRAH for ugly, smelly, old, nasty, bad furniture no longer being in my house. I think we're going to get a couple of those ottomans that have storage in them for the living room.
A very productive weekend in all. I've also discovered some fun things on Twitter - like the NASA feed and the Smithsonian. Let me know if you have an account on Twitter and I'll follow along like a little puppy dog.
