I am on the hunt for a secretary desk (secretarie?). I have peeked around through ebay, but I don't think I want to pay the shipping costs. I have thought about going to Amish furniture stores. My next thought is antique shopping. I have seen one at Menards, but, let's face it, how good of quality can that be?

I have been wanting to get desks for the kids for lessons. The dining table works fine, but they often are distracted when sitting face to face and I have trouble with disturbing the other while I am helping another. I have looked at inexpensive desks for a while, but they are not worth the cost slapped on them plus it isn't quite what I want.

When I saw the secretary desk at Menards, inspiration struck. If I get each of them a good quality desk they can have it forever. It is something they can take with them when they grow up. I was thinking a small, fold down secretary would suit lessons needs now and it can easily be re-purposed into something else as they age. Plus, who doesn't want a good, sturdy desk?!But, it is finding one that is driving bonkers.
