I've become used to them since we moved here a couple of years ago - there are A LOT of spiders here, and some very large ones at that. I rather appreciate them, actually; they weave pretty webs, they eat mosquitoes and other nasty insects, they do a world of good in the garden, keeping all the little bugs who feast on our roses and other flowers at bay, and they're really very harmless to us.

Still, I wouldn't want them crawling all over me. :)

There is no logic behind phobias, and I don't think I'll ever "love" spiders
At least I force myself to look at them in pictures now...it's a step

Oh, you have arachnophobia? That's another cup of tea entirely. Sorry to hear it, it must be apain in the ass. :/

Let's say I offer lots of free laughs if someone witness me and one of "these" on the same place
And I think I've been beaten a couple of times by them (I try to repress such memories:) Oh that happens when you sleep on the floor in a country house...
But on the other hand I don't think there is someone out there without being afraid of something and arachnophobia is "convenient". I would hate to be claustrophobic for example that can cause much worst problems...
Wasn't there a topic about phobias in A&L? I think I remember it...

Yes, I remember something along those lines, as well.
I agree that claustrophobia or agoraphobia must be ten times worse, but still. It's great that you've been making a little progress, though - have you had some kind of help with it, or do you just handle it on your own?

There are times that I got really embarrassed
Imagine a spider appearing on my desk while at work and me running screaming outside, not very nice for my image:)
But well I don't think I would ever go and get any professional help for this
Through the years I try to handle it on my own as you say.
I started by trying to look at spiders in pictures and by now I won't run screaming out of the room(I'll just "walk" away*lol*)

I think that's some rather impressive progress. :)
