Obviously, their relationship doesn't start out perfect and that's why this fanmix doesn't start out with happy song. Sasuke's departure has an equally devastating impact on Sakura - as well as Naruto. Naruto tries to convince Sakura that it isn't her fault, as he makes the promise of his life to bring Sasuke back.

I see this song as upbeat, and optimistic, while it carries an air of resignation. Naruto knows he doesn't have a hold on Sakura so he lets her do what she wants to do; he lets her decide for herself. It also speaks of Naruto's feelings: how he has always loved her and how he never wants to be alone.
oo3: { 8 AM } the summer obsession
"There in the summer of my new obsession
all of my dreams started in the depression
8 in the morning and I got your letter
sealed with a kiss

Somehow, this song made me realize that Naruto has quite a childish demeanor, but he can't ever say 'no' to Sakura. The way the song repeats "say you will" and "I never say no to you" just means that he is physically dependent on her - enough to sound desperate.

It feels like this is the song that pushes them from being friends, to something more. The song is breezy, yet exhilarating. Naruto waits for Sakura's desicion but he already knows what her answer is.

First of all, I nearly didn't include this in the mix, but somehow, the more I listen to it, the more it fits in with Naruto and Sakura. Though the song starts out delicate, by the end of it, you can really identify its emotional depth. It's about Naruto being an idiot (that he is xD), failing, and asking Sakura for sympathy. He keeps asking "Won't you hold me now?" because he's blunt like that (and actions speak louder than words. :3)
oo6: { I'LL BE } edwin mccain
"I'll be your crying shoulder,
I'll be love's suicide
I'll be better when I'm older,
I'll be the greatest fan of your life.
And rain falls angry on the tin roof

I think the meaning behind this song is pretty obvious: Naruto will always be there for Sakura like Sakura will be there for Naruto. They need to and will protect each other.

Happiness, sadness, longing and promises are all jumbled into this song. :D Happiness and sadness are memories, Naruto's longing for love (and someone to hold), and hopeful promises are for the future.

This song is somewhat overused in FSTs these days but I think it's still special. These sound like Sakura's feelings to me. Naruto was always there for her, always by her side, and now she realizes. She'd nearly given up on love after Sasuke left ("I just couldn't take the hurt again") but - as it turns out - Naruto's her sunshine. :)

It's hard to think a relationship like Naruto and Sakura will ever fall apart. They stuck together through thick and thin, they helped each other, and they will run together to save Sasuke and get through their world. Sakura is like Naruto's rock - she will bring him back to Earth, she will stick by him for ever.

Naruto has always been committed to Sakura - no matter what. He doesn't want the relationship to be complicated but he wants it to last. I love Chris Carrabba's voice, the honesty in this song really shines through.

Although the singing would use some work, I find this some cute and simple - nice to end a mix with. ^_^ Naruto and Sakura are both very different people, but in other ways, similar. Though Sakura keeps her emotions in check and Naruto has his out where everyone can see, we all know that Sakura is like Naruto inside - loud, and (in some ways) immature with a strong attitude.

Yays - so after THREE consecutive NaruSasu FSTs, I have finally made something different. xD I really feel proud of myself. This pairing needs so much more love - Is this only the third FST dedicated to these two?! whut? whut? ;_;
Initially, I was planning to finish that *other* SasuNaru NaruSasu-ish YAOI fanmix before this, but I thought better of it. I mean, seriously, who makes four fanmixes with the same subjects in a row? Not me! :D I must have broken some sort of record with the three in a row, though.
Okay, I will try to stop ranting here.
