So, I didn't realize how much dust could accumulate on these things after only a couple of months. I mean, not that I wasn't worrying about it…or lost it. I knew exactly where it was. The whole time.

I got a letter from Fred today, the great prat. I can't believe he gets to traipse all over America while I have to go back to school in less than a month. It just isn't fair. He told me all about the different Muggle joke shops Dad's having him go to for research, and all of the interesting people he's meeting. He says New York City's amazing, and so much better than London, but he knows I don't really like big cities anyway, so I don't see what the big deal is. Loads of tall buildings and pushy people, and NO GRASS? No thanks. I can visit places like that, but I don't think I could ever live somewhere where there are more rubbish bins than trees.

He'll be back for the World Cup, of course. Any of you lot going? Mum's completely excited, though of course disappointed that England lost in the finals. She and Dad are going for Ireland, but I'm supporting Argentina. Have you seen their Beater? She's a complete maniac. Should be a good match, and I might be able to wheedle another ticket out of Mum if someone wants to come with me. You know you want to watch my parents paint their faces and act like lunatics. You might have to help me keep Fred from pitching himself off the stands when they make a bad call, but I think that's a fair trade, yeah?
