HOW DID YOU GET THE SLIP ON ME IN MY OWN MEME?!?!?!?!?!?
oKAY WHATEVER. I love you, I like you, thank you for being my friend, my chosen sister, and feeding me, even when you don't feel like feeding me. Sometimes that means going to chicken fingers, sometimes that means making me eat vegetables, but never mushrooms, except for those few times. Thank you for bringing me into your home.
You were so kind and welcoming to this stranger who pretty much invited herself to your house to watch the Parks Finale, and you continue to be kind and welcoming even though you now know how insane I am (because like Janice from Accounting, you don't give a fuuuuuck). I will never forget our 4 hour brunch, booze, and bagel puree extravaganza, and I hope we have many, many more of those in the future. Narwhals 4 Life. <3
Emily of Emily, I'm so grateful you (and your dog and your Bride) are in my life. From weird spellings of surnames to your crazy relatives (or, well, specifically the one) to the heyday of Harry Potter fandom, we always have something hilarious and/or meaningful to talk about, and I'm so glad whenever whichever device/social media channel/whatever lights up with a notification from you, because I know I'll have a smile on my face in a couple of minutes.
Also: thank you for not smashing my phone before I finally capitulated to Archer. My life is better now, and I can still text.
I love you so much! I'm so happy whenever I get to see you! Thank you for feeding me, introducing me to shark tank, and letting me pet your dog. You make me laugh literally every day!
Em, you are just a delight and I love you! You are fantastic at adulting and organizing. You are an adorable dog parent. You are a skilled spaghetti maker and provider of hospitality. I am really glad we are friends (I know I've been very bad about emailing lately and I will definitely try to do better), I love chatting with you any time because you are properly horrified/disgusted/enthused about whatever needs discussing. Thank you for always being there to talk, to laugh, to comfort. Love you friend.
Also, you have given me the gift of Dan Savage. Thank you!
I really don't know what to say. You are just such an amazingly good-hearted person, and your patience dealing with idiots (students and otherwise) is something I really really admire.
So hopeful/excited about what could be coming for you in 2016.
Also, Lana! And your husband is cool too, even for a somewhat Republican : ). And I am so glad I got to meet all of you this year.
Emily, you are such a sweet and wonderful person. I am so glad I got to meet you in person. I will never forget your kindness and organizational skills in making sure we all had a wonderful Parks Finale. I hope to be able to hang out with you again in person. Washington DC always welcomes you and your family. :D
I promise to love all of you later when I get home!
