very, very important question: these shoes, fug or fab?

Poll estos zapatos:because, i don't know, they are teal, which i love, but i sort of hate that weird webbing bullshit on the toes. it reminds me of those hideous plastic beaded slipper shoes that everyone wore four summers ago that i wanted to melt in a fire while they were still on the wearers' feet ( Read more... )

maybe i should tell her that when we have dinner and then say, "but it's okay! i like you no matter what!"

i totally thought she was a lesbian the entire time i helped her "garden" when i was in high school. maybe i should tell her that when we have dinner and then say, "but it's okay! i like you no matter what!"

You need to do that.

Hopefully she was really caught off-guard and fucked up on the phone, and will be much better when you meet her? Lord. At least I can say for certain that those shoes are really awesome.

that is my hope too, although if it's more awkward? i'm lighting the table cloth on fire.

a. for the record, I can't decide whether those shoes are ugly or not myself. I said 'fab' though.

b. I'm trying to think? and I can't seem to remember a single reaction of anyone's that was "oh, that's great, I like you anyway", except possibly my mother's. which is-- okay, your parents reassuring you about something is maybe different, because there is this assumption that telling your parents you are queer could make them awkward. I do, however, prefer to come out to people by dropping it into casual conversation, and leaving people to figure it out for themselves; only the really brash or curious ask questions, and they'll never say 'I like you anyway!'.

yeah, i'm usually more likely to just slip mention of it into casual conversation and not make some big ANNOUNCEMENT. but i feel like it's weird to not say something if someone asks me point-blank if i have a boyfriend. i don't know. people are dumb.

1) I think those shoes are SO CLOSE to cute, but I have webbing issues.

2) I officially want to throttle that woman. If that had happened to me, I would want to shake her and say, "Is okay with you? Is it really okay? Because I was holding back on following through with my queerness until you gave me your permission."
