1. in general, i find leaving your cell phone ringer on while in the office to be just shy of leaving it on in a movie theater, but there is a guy in the cube row next to me who a) always leaves his ringer on and b) has that "you had a bad day" song as his ringtone. this is grounds for public execution, right? the line has to be drawn somewhere ( Read more... )

I totally make personal calls at work booking dental appointments etc., (though not on my mobile) but then I also was paid $34,000 a year this morning to write out all my christmas cards.

which reminds me - I had the most awesome card idea in the history of card ideas for you, AND NOW I CAN'T REMEMBER.

Heh, I obviously have no problem goofing off at work (hi, lj!), but apparently I just want people to be sneaky, or at least non-disturbing about it.

see, my job at the moment IS to goof off at work, though when I had actual tasks to do, I tried not to for the most part. (or at least, not so excessively. *grin*)

I think the key for personal calls at work is to a. keep them short and b. keep your cel phone on silent. I mean, have it on - a lot of people have kids, may get calls they have to take, etc.? - but don't have it ring.

though I hate hate HATE non-ring ringtones, so I'm biased.
