i was gonna say:
1. went to three halloween parties on saturday night, reconfirmed belief that there's no point trying to look pretty when you're always going to be outshone by drag queens.
2. dexter. insert either hand-waving babble or redundant insight (or maybe hand-waving insight and redundant babble) here.
3. saw the hold steady in concert on monday night, and, uh, something something about the irony of a bunch of drunk nebbish-looking guys in their mid-thirties writing songs about party pits and chill out tents and playing shows where everybody waves their hands in the air and most of their hands show off the big black Xs they give to attendees who are over eighteen but under twenty-one.
4. i really hope that hal sparks is the fifth member of the man band.
