“Well, if certain individuals didn’t go around mixing their personal lives with their work lives, we wouldn’t have this problem.” Megan threw at Kate, who merely folded her arms against her chest and regarded her employee with a rather cold look while they both stood over the body of their deceased victim.

Peter turned to Ethan, “they might be at this for a while.” Ethan readjusted his glasses.

“I enjoy cat fights, trust me.” Ethan muttered. “I saw a few of them in college, but this is ridiculous.”

“Don’t let Megan hear you say that.” Peter commented with a smile. “She’ll put you back on lab duty.”

“I wish I were in the lab instead of hearing this right now.” Curtis added from his spot next to Ethan, before he interrupted the two arguing women. “Is this autopsy going to be done today or do I have to wait for one of you to become my next cadaver?”

Kate shot them an apologetic look, “I’ll go ahead and start on the lung.” Megan said nothing, and Curtis smiled.

“Would it really kill you both to get along?” Curtis continued, and Megan glanced up from her scalpel.

“Yes.”

Kate turned to give Megan another disapproving look, and Ethan sighed inaudibly.

“Are all work places like horrible soap operas?” Ethan questioned. Peter nodded. “Great! Just what I needed to know.”

“With Dr. Megan Hunt around,” Curtis answered. “Hell yes. You better pray that you don’t work with another woman like Dr. Hunt again, ‘cause you’ll join the soap opera fun.” Ethan made a face; soap operas involved dramatic deaths, creative marriages, and all the children you could create.

Before he could stop himself, he blurted out” “But! I don’t want to have a child with either of them!” Kate and Megan stopped mid-argument to stare at him.

“Ethan, do you have something you need to tell us?” Megan asked, and Curtis snickered.

“No, ma’am.” Ethan shot Curtis a glare.

“Don’t glare at me like that.” Curtis warned. “You were the one who opened your mouth.”

“After you put the thought in my head!”

“I did no such thing.” Curtis scoffed. “Now, you’re making things up.”

Kate cleared her throat, and the three guys looked toward her. “I hate to interrupt your argument, but we do have a dead body before us.”

Megan scoffed. “When has that stopped you before?”

Curtis groaned, as they went at it once more. “Here we go again...”
