yo i'm chillen at josh's house and jackie got him a 4 cd set of the history of jamaican music every thing from pre ska jamaican forms of jazz r/b to ska to rocksteady to reggea to dub to dancehall to something called ragga witch i didn't get far enight in the boook to know anything about but i was drinkin and listenin to the early ska then the dub shit and reading this amazing history that feels a part of my own.... well i was listenin to this crazy version of guns of naverone by the skatellites and the guy was i guess toasting (or making the sounds of a maraca with his mouth like ancient beatbox.... respect) and i was trying to match him (intrestingly enough i waould change beat at the same time once or twice on the first listening) but when josh and jackie ran to the store i sat in pseudo-lotus position and closed my eyes and matched the beat as best i could (ever changing as it was) and it helped me meditate like chanting would it was crazy and i read about the roots of jamiacan beat and rythm coming from african tribes and plantation music and that was inspiring and intresting such as all ancient culture is to me (like the celts the buddhist monks and other simple deep rooted culures with widom lost to modern ignorance) and i felt i connectedness with everything the realisation that everything roots from everything all is one idea manifested in different and even contadictory ways it was beautiful i tell ye needless to say i must get a copy of my own and heres to hopefully really moving to the jamaican countryside, and peace ideal i am
