I woke up at 0445 for a raid this morning. This one has to be the strangest raid I've been in. The raid itself started at about 0630. Each crew in my platoon parked next to a house along the road, and cleared it out. The house I went to was empty. People lived there, but there was no one home. It seemed strange, but I didn't think much of it. Until all the first homes were cleared, and we found out that none of those first houses had people in them. Then I thought something was up. My platoon went to the second set of homes, and still nobody was around. They all had furnitures, tv's, and chickens like most homes. Still, nobody. This was a whole empty neighborhood. It was like that movie, 28 Days. We found a couple of homes on the outskirts of our objectives that had people. But it was just women and children. No men. I kept expecting something to happen, but nothing did. We just went to near by fields to look for stuff. Didn't find a thing. Very unproductive raid.
