So we're not the youngest kids on the block, but that means that
evannichols and I can really appreciate being with each other at this point in our lives. As part of our recent four-day extravaganza of togetherness we went to Lincoln City for an approximate 30-hour stint at a lovely beach house. We were there as part of a group to help his sister celebrate her birthday, somewhat belatedly. There's a photo! Loads of grey: the skies, the ocean
yes, I was quite in heaven.
In other stuff about me: I recently devoured Storm Large's autobiography and now have another autobiography (thanks to the Multnomah Public Library's exceedingly generous interlibrary loan policy) for
Jonathan Ross who came on my radar a few months ago when I downloaded two seasons of
Japanorama hosted by this very vibrant Brit. My exercise regimen has continued on with me now jogging/running around 2 miles 4 days a week and I'm continuing to monitor my eating portions. Since I knew there would be beer around at the beach house, I 'treated' myself to actual Diet Coke. I do hope I haven't awakened a monster; it's been about 7 months since I'd had any and I found myself buying more this evening. But I also bought cherry limeade, which in this particular manifestation has no calories, no caffeine, etc.
Tomorrow: job hunting, jogging, but also a mid-day visit to the Alberta section of SE Portland to have coffee with one of my younger cousins named Matthew. He and I seem to have an affinity in that we both feel rather like black sheep in regards to our super high achieving siblings and other cousins, and I am really looking forward to talking with him. In fact, now that we're actually meeting up tomorrow, I'm realizing how excited I am to get re-acquainted with him. When I was in rehab around my birthday in 2010, he figured out how to write to me and did, which meant a lot.
Right now I'm exceedingly sore in my upper back, especially the right hand side (not entirely sure why just that side, but I have a theory), and my legs from running. I have a couple of interesting documentaries from the library that I'll settle in with as well as my knitting, and will probably call it a night around 10:15.
