These pics are accumulated from various local thrift stores over the past few months…
SAD PANDA:
Ray…if you’re reading this…I think it’s great that you’re trying your hand at art, but don’t quit your day job just yet.
I don’t know what to say about this one…
…but if it makes you feel any better, a week later the painting was still there, removed from its frame which presumably someone wanted to buy but thought somebody else might really like to have the art.
It gets worse:
What’s amazing about this piece is its sheer size…I’d guesstimate it was about 8 feet wide. It was outside the donation area at Hope Station because OSHA regulations prohibit bringing artwork this hideous indoors.
From the “Market Research Fail” department…
This spitoon or something…and yes, I know there’s the reverse “good” Native American swastika…this ain’t it.
I had to Google around a little, and near as I can tell it originates from a company in India, where the symbol has positive meaning and not the same connotations as in the west. Still, if you’re gonna sell your stuff on the international market, you’d think they’d put out feelers for such things…
…it’s like if someone were to call their backpack company “Dong.” Oh, wait, they did…
The worst part? That had to be some kid’s backpack at school, until he got mocked and taunted and beat up. Poor guy. Shit, I didn’t even have a Dong® backpack and I got beat up plenty.
On a happier note…80s fashion!
I’m upset that my camera couldn’t accurately capture the combination of pastel and neon colors of this track suit, it was glorious:
The 80s then staggered over and vomited on this pants rack:
Baggy pants in ALL THE NEON COLORS. I didn’t boost these colors, the camera oversaturated and died on its own. That’s not the best part though.
Wait for it…wait for it…
The brand label:
DIGNITY! Because if you’re wearing these pants, you have none.
I might’ve bought a pair. Okay, two pairs. It was a 30% off weekend.
